You are more likely to get sick if you are over 50 years old or have health problems:

  1. High blood pressure.
  2. Heart problems.
  3. Asthma and other breathing problems.
  4. Diabetes.
  5. Having treatment for cancer and some blood problems.
  6. Kidney problems.
  7. Other health problems which mean you are more likely to get sick.

The symptoms of COVID-19 are:

  1. A cough
  2. Fever
  3. Shortness of breath

If you show these symptoms you should first contact your doctor or the Healthline on 0800 358 5453.

Your doctor will ask questions, then tell you what to do.

If there is a Community Based Assessment Clinic (CBAC) nearby, you can go there to check and maybe have a test.

There are six simple ways to keep yourself safe:

  1. No hongi, kihi (kissing), awhi (hugging) or shaking hands.
  2. Wash and dry your hands regularly.
  3. Try not to touch your mouth, eyes or nose.
  4. Keep away from anyone who is coughing and sneezing.
  5. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
  6. Don’t share drinks or kai.
